Assistant Coaches--Offense
Josh Angulo
Josh Angulo, graduate of the University of Sioux Falls, joins our staff to work with receivers. Coach Angulo was a talented leader for the Cougar offense and was a Second Team All-Conference Selection in the 2014-2015 season. He was an Exercise Science-Pre Medicine Major at USF who was also an All-State Selection and Elite 45 Selection in his 2011-2012 season with SF Roosevelt High School. Coach Angulo is currently in his 4th year with the Academy.
We asked him to share his thoughts on coaching and playing receiver:
There is a lot that needs to be done in order for a wide receiver to catch a pass. The offensive line must do their job, the quarterback must deliver the ball on time, running backs have to help with protection, other wide receivers have to do their job on the field to help get me open. I like being able to finish off the play and be there for my teammates. They do their jobs for me, I want to be able to finish the job for them and make the play that is necessary for the team to win. That is my favorite part about playing receiver. Kids should want to come work at the Academy because the coaches are some of the best in the region, and learning from them can only make young athletes better. I would have loved to work with these coaches when I was learning to play the game. Kids should take advantage of the opportunity and work to become the best player they can be.
